About

Lost Coast Naturals started with my own struggle to find skincare that fit the way I wanted to live.

I had become more intentional about what I used and bought. Fewer, better things, and more thought put into what I consumed and surrounded myself with.

At the same time, I was dealing with acne and contact dermatitis. I saw dermatologists, had allergy testing done, and tried the products they recommended, but nothing really worked. Eventually I stopped using almost everything. The rashes cleared, but my skin felt dry and unhealthy.

When I looked for something simpler, I kept finding two extremes: drugstore skincare with long ingredient lists, or beef tallow in a glass jar. I wanted something natural and simple, but still effective and well designed.

Around the same time, I was getting more into minimalism and backpacking and took a trip on the Lost Coast Trail.

I loved it. A 25-mile shuttle to the trailhead, then three days of raw, untouched nature. Planning your day around the tides. You bring what you need, leave behind what you don’t, and everything has a purpose.

That balance of nature, simplicity, and intention stuck with me and carried into the brand. Keep the formulas simple, choose ingredients for a reason, and put the same amount of thought into the packaging and everything around the product.

Lost Coast Naturals is formulated and made in small batches in California. Behind the scenes at @lostcoastnaturals.
